Please work through the times tables sheet with your child. There are questions on the x3, x4 and x8 tables. Your child should identify the times table number sentences on the grid and fill in the missing times tables sums.
Please continue to read regularly with your child. Reward points will be given to children who record what they have read in their reading diaries. Please ask your child to tell you about what they have read. This will help to ensure your child can understand the text they are reading.
During their morning work, the children have been looking at adding suffixes that begin with a vowel (er/ed//en/ing). With these words, when the last syllable is stressed, you double the final consonant, e.g. forget becomes forgetting. The children have also been looking at creating negative meanings using the prefix –mis.
Please look through the workbook with the children, complete any unfinished work and practise the spellings. The spellings are:
forgetting, forgotten, beginning, beginner, preferred, preferring, occurred, occurring, forbidden, committed
misspell, mislead, mistreat, misbehave, mistrust, misprint, misuse, misplace, misheard, misread
Please check that your child can spell these words and use them correctly in a sentence. There will be a spelling test on these words.
Year 3 will be going on a school trip on Monday (25th June) to the Science and Media Museum in Bradford. Please ensure your child arrives at school for registration at 8:30am, as we will be leaving school at 8:45am. We will also be returning to school later than usual, at 4:15pm.
