Mrs Furniss

Homework week ending 5.10.2018

Reading

October 4th was National Poetry Day. In school, Mrs Garnett and I shared poems that we enjoy reading with the children. For reading homework this week, please encourage your child to read poems with you to develop reading pace and intonation. It would be lovely if your child could bring a copy of a poem they particularly reading enjoy to share with the rest of the class.

Maths

The learning focus for this week has been on place value and adding or subtracting 10 and 100 from 3 digit numbers. We have also been rounding numbers to the nearest 10. Your child has been given a booklet with activities which support some of the learning they have been doing in class.

Spelling

This week we have been learning spellings from lists 3 and 4. Please encourage your child to learn these words at home for a spelling test next Tuesday.

Have a good weekend,

Mrs Furniss and Mrs Garnett
