Examining Owl Pellets

Our class reading book Skellig lead us to finding out about tawny owls. On discovering how they produced pellets by regurgitating indigestable food, we couldn't let this opportunity go by without finding out more for ourselves. Each group was able to pick apart one of the pellets and use a chart to identify the remains. To our amazement there were up to 4 skulls and many other identifiable bones in just one pellet. Have a look at the photos in the gallery to see more of what we found. Its surprising what you can buy on the internet these days!
