What is Your Digital Footprint Like?

What impression do you give?

The children in Year 5KH have been exploring digital footprints during Safer Internet Week. They thought about what sorts of posts online might create a positive digital footprint and what sorts of posts might create a negative digital footprint, and they learnt that a digital footprint is permanent and can never be deleted. They understand that first impressions online count, and parents, friends, future employers and universities can make decisions based on what they see about you online. Have a look at the posts made below in the gallery- can you tell if they are contributing towards a negative or positive digital footprint?

Digital Buddies at the Esafety roadshow!

Today representatives from our new 'Digital Buddies' visited a special Esafety roadshow at the SUFC Platinum suite. They took part in several activities which helped them to increase their understanding of how they can use the internet safely, respectfully and responsibly.  They also met a humanoid robot and tested out some new technology which was demonstrated at the roadshow. The 'Digital Buddies' will share what they have learned with the school in a special assembly during Safer Internet Week.

Whisper Online Safety concerns

If you have an online safety concern and would like to contact the school anonymously you can now click on the Whisper button to do so.

You can also click on the following link: www.swgflwhisper.org.uk/report/stm11

You  can also anonymously report issues  via SMS by texting    STM11 + your message to    078600 21584

SWGfL Whisper is a reporting service offered by South West Grid for Learning as part of its BOOST suite of online safety services for schools. The service, hosted by the Grid, consists of a website button / link that launches an online dialogue-box to capture information or details for anyone who needs to report issues to the school. That information is then sent to an email address nominated by the school. It also comprises an alternative SMS service that uses a school specific number to send information. Both services can be regarded as anonymous if the user chooses to withhold their personal information.
