Dragon Days

What a fabulous performance by the members of Theatre Club at the Montgomery Theatre on Friday evening! Amazing acting and some uplifting singing and dancing! Thank you very much to everyone concerned for a glorious evening show. It will be difficult to better that performance next year! Thank you also to our audience for turning out in such numbers to support Theatre Club. More photos to follow.

Y5BT trip to Peace Centre

On Friday the 11th May 2018, Y5BT went on a trip to the Peace Centre in Warrington. Some people went by car and some people went on the train. When we arrived at the Peace Centre, we put our bags away in the sports hall and went to listen to what would happen throughout the day.

We met some famous Hollywood stars and they performed a magnificent play. It was about a problem that two children tried to solve but made a mistake. In the end they managed to solve the problem.

After the performance, we had our lunch on little picnic blankets.

Then we dressed in graduation outfits consisting of a cloak and a cap – we looked amazing! The best was yet to come. We got the opportunity to ask questions to Wendy and Colin Parry, the parents of Tim Parry who was killed in the Warrington bombing at the age of 12. Their answers were inspirational to us all and we now understand even more about why they set up the Peace Foundation.

We all got ready for the graduation ceremony and waited for our name to be called out. We were presented with a certificate by Colin Parry.

Our sensational day finished with the treat of a bag of sweets which we all enjoyed on the way back home.

Eyam KS2 Sports Day Winners!

Tuesday saw another fantastic Sports Day at the English Institute of Sport where our 4 house teams battled to be 2018 Champions. Throughout the day we saw enormous jumps at the Long jump and High jump and wonderfully long throws at the Javelin. Whilst on the track we had children competing in sprinting, hurdles, relays, skipping, egg and spoon and the ultimate obstacle course. All the children showed terrific teamwork, magnificent motivation and excellent endeavour throughout the whole day. Of course children were awarded points for all of their efforts which resulted in our 2018 Sports Day Winners - Eyam!

A big thank you to all the staff, parents, family and friends who were able to support on the day. Photographs of the event can be found in the gallery below - well done to all the children that took part.

Woodland Walk Takes Shape

Our woodland path is now nearly finished thanks to the help of some super volunteers who helped shovel, wheelbarrow and rake building materials into place for Tom our project manager from Ecclesall Woods to finish off. After clearing and digging out the path on Tuesday, today was spent filling and compressing the serpent shaped path down into the woods. We are all looking forward to see our children using the woods next term.  A big thank you to all our helpers and also the volunteers from Ecclesall Woods - we couldn't have done it without you!

Thornbridge Triumph

St Marie's KS2 sports day was once again a huge success with Thornbridge crowned 2016 champions for the first time.

The English Institute of Sport Sheffield (EISS) proved to be an inspirational setting for all the children and we saw some amazing track and field performances.

The final scores were:

Thornbridge 3594, Padley 3467, Eyam 3407 and Mayfield 3360.

Well done to everybody who competed and contributed to their team's points.

A big thanks also to the all the parents and the All Saint's volunteers who helped on the day.
