Good towards Outstanding

Mr Dewhurst spoke to parents on Thursday September 19th about the successes of St Marie's School in 2012-13, and how the staff aim to build on this success in the coming year. He highlighted the excellent results in Key Stage 1 and 2, testament to the dedication and skill of the staff. He also re-iterated the school's desire to work towards moving from 'Good' towards 'Outstanding'. Tips for parents centred around the importance of Reading in helping children to achieve. Please download and have a look at the presentation used below in the files.

Climbing Wall is tops!

Thanks to the hard work and inspiration of Mr Coe, our Building Supervisor, we now have a lovely new climbing wall for our Reception playground. The children climb along the wall rather than up it, only a short step off the ground. No doubt they will get great use of it in the days to come. Thank you to Mr Coe for your hard work!

Thanks also to EUROSPAR at Broomhill, who have sponsored the cost of the wall from their community scheme to the tune of £300!.

St Marie's Garden Area

Our Garden area is looking great after landscaping over the summer! Take a look at the photo gallery.

Further work should continue next week.

Could you be a volunteer gardener? We are looking for knowledgeable and willing volunteers who could spend a little time each week helping us to maintain the environmental area. Any keen gardening grandparents? Please let Mrs Fenton know.

In a couple of weeks, we may also be asking for some donations of bulbs – a list will be published!
