How did Rosa Parks feel?

Today we finished our final lesson about Rosa Parks. We were thinking about how she must have felt. In order to do this we gave some children at random a bib to wear. These children had special privileges such as not needing to sit on the carpet, having a teddy bear to work with them, water bottle on the table and extra play - because they were wearing a bib. There was lots of emotion in todays english lesson where children were thinking about if it was fair or not.

In the end we all decided that it wasn't fair. "We are all the same underneath, it doesn't matter what we wear or look like" said Ella. Adam even decided to take his bib off and give it back as he didn't want the privileges anymore.

We then thought about how what we had done had been like what Rosa Parks and the people in Alabama in the 1950's. The children said she must have been really upset, sad and frustrated. Year 2 worked hard this morning thinking about others. We all decided we preferred to be treated all the same!
