St Marie's Young Voices!

Well done to the 44 children and all the adults who represented the school so well at the Young Voices Concert on Tuesday evening at Sheffield Arena. Mrs Grant and Mrs Borland were very pleased at the way the children conducted themselves, and the way they joined in all of the songs. A big thank you, once again to our volunteers and parents helpers, who were superstars on the day. Congratulations to all!

Small Steps For Peace

Last Friday, the children in Y5BT were the first class in KS2 to take part in a project to teach children how to resolve conflict peacefully. The ‘Small Steps to Peace’ programme was delivered by projector facilitators from the Peace Foundation, who had also carried out staff training on the on Thursday evening to KS2 staff. This morning, the Y5s played some lively games followed by discussions about the feelings associated with being included, excluded, excited, frustrated and angry. The programme will be rolled out to all the KS2 classes and Mr Fernandes will take a representation from St Marie’s to graduate as ‘Peacebuilders’ in a ceremony at Warrington’s Peace Centre after Easter.
