What a wonderful day we had at the Butterfly House! Despite the forecast, we were blessed with sunshine and the children enjoyed a fabulous day learning about animals from all around the world. We saw meerkats, caimams, a huge variety of birds, giant tortoise and of course the beautiful butterflies. After lunch, we enjoyed an interesting talk form one of the animal keepers. He showed us different varieties of butterflies and explained where they came from and why they each had their own unique patters. Then, we got to meet a cockroach, a lizard and a millipede – for those brave enough they even got to have a hold!
As always, the children represented our school beautifully and we had a brilliant day. Well done Year 2!
