You will remember that our governing body passed a resolution to join St Clare’s Catholic Multi Academy Trust (CMAT) and that the original planned start date (April) was delayed.
I am delighted to be able to say that St Clare’s CMAT was given approval to open in September 2022 at the Regional Schools’ Commissioner Advisory Board on 18th May. This means that we will now be able to join with nine other Diocesan schools in forming the foundation of our new Catholic MAT in September.
The schools joining with St Marie's are; St Alban’s Denaby, Sacred Heart, St Ann’s, St Catherine’s, St Mary’s, St Thomas of Canterbury, St Wilfrid’s, All Saints and Notre Dame.
During the summer term, our staff and governing body will be working with the directors, CEO and CFO of St Clare’s CMAT to make sure that we are ready in September. There will be no immediate differences for you and your children as the CMAT is committed to maintaining the local character local leadership and strengths of each school. This means that we will have the same governors, and staff and all that you know about the day to day running of the school will be as it is now.
Overtime, we expect to strengthen collaboration with other schools in the Diocese, including others in our family who are seeking to join the CMAT soon. We believe this will help to free time in school by cutting down on duplication and will allow all schools to benefit from sharing our best ideas and from working together in addressing the things that can make us better. Our governors resolved to join St Clare’s CMAT because we believe it is the best thing for the common good of schools in the Diocese and because it offers exciting new opportunities to help us to maintain the best of what we do while improving further the education and care that your children receive.
I include a link to some frequently asked questions that came through the consultation earlier in the year that you can read if you want some further information about the development of St Clare’s CMAT. We will of course continue to keep you informed about any future developments.
