The Reception children had a wonderful day out visiting St Vincent's Church on Thursday. We started by attending Mass with Father Paddy where we sang some of our favourite songs with the parishioners and some parents. We explored three different areas within the church.
Our first stop was visiting Father Paddy's sacristy, he explained the different coloured robes he wears, what we use frankincense for and our favourite part, the Holy water. Next, we explored the garden with Mrs. Walton, here we planted some seedlings underneath the statue of Jesus in a special planting box that had been made especially for us!
Finally, we investigated the Narthex with Mrs. Grant, she told us all about the wonderful things we could see in the church, we drew a picture of our favourite thing. The children all had a fabulous time at St Vincent's Church, the Reception team are so proud of them!
