Y1's Last Supper and Washing of the feet

On Wednesday 8th March we learned more about the Last Supper. We already have lots of knowledge about the Last Supper from reading the scripture. Today we re-enacted the Last Supper and thought more about the meal being Jesus and his friends. We learned that before the Last Supper Jesus washed the disciples' feet. We learned why people often washed their feet when they entered a house. Miss Healy washed our feet (if we wanted them washing) and then we washed Miss Healy’s feet because we decided it would be fair to all have our feet washed.

We also thought more about linking seeing the bread and wine being used at Mass. We used pitta bread and blackcurrant juice so that it was very much like the Last Supper. We also watched a clip from the Miracle Maker so we could see what looked the same at the Last Supper to ours in our classroom.
